Devyn Smith Promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Good results and Progress
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College Director of Athletics Donnie Brooks has introduced that Athletics Functions Assistant Devyn Smith has been promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for University student-Athlete Good results and Advancement. Smith, who joined Macalester Athletics in March of 2020, will be implementing and coordinating the Scots Direct program.
“We’re thrilled to now improve the function Devyn will engage in in the progress of our pupil-athletes as she will immediate our Scots Lead method,” Brooks said. “We see management improvement as a strategic opportunity and advantage. Devyn has made into an exceptional administrator and I am enthusiastic that she will go on that growth right here at Macalester.”
Scots Guide is Macalester Athletics’ detailed tactic to student-athlete advancement. Given that arriving at Macalester, Smith has served as the coordinator for the University student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She has been the department’s NCAA Variety and Inclusion Designee and the chair of Macalester Athletics’ DEI committee because April of 2021 when also sitting down on the department’s leadership staff.
Smith arrived to Macalester soon after expending 4 decades at University Doable, which supports pupils from reduced-profits backgrounds in their journey to show up at and graduate from college or university. A 2013 graduate of UW-Eau Claire, Smith earned a Bachelor’s diploma in psychology with a small in spouse and children scientific tests. She was a member of the Blugolds’ women’s basketball crew as a university student assistant following an injury ended her athletic job. Smith also retains a Modify Management Specialist Certificate from Michigan Point out University.
