Mindtrust Leadership Development Program – Winter 2024

Mindtrust Leadership Development Program – Winter 2024

The Mindtrust Leadership Development Program (MLDP) has been successfully delivered since 2005, in partnership with post-secondary institutions in the National Capital Region. Through its 19-year history, Mindtrust has graduated over 1,200 alumni. MLDP is responding to the need to develop next generation leaders, and is intended for mature, impact-driven students with an interest in the future of leadership. This program features seven interactive sessions facilitated by leadership development experts. Leadership theory and content is complemented by the inclusion of community leaders, whom share their practical leadership experiences and wisdom with the program participants.

Mindtrust Leadership Development Program – Winter 2024

Program Overview

MLDP 2024 will use a combination of in-person and online delivery, while focusing on the unique aspects of the program including:

  • A variety of learning activities about important leadership topics, while providing a solid base for the participants to undertake their own leadership journey
  • Interactive teaching approaches to allow maximum participation and attention
  • Interaction with Mindtrust leaders to share their knowledge, experience, and wisdom
  • Working with students from other institutions to develop long-term relationships.

The sessions are optimized for delivery with a mix of pre-work/readings, a short introduction video for each topic, and a facilitated session. Each topic is divided into two sections as follows:

  • Topic overview (3 – 5 minutes) is pre-recorded and available to the participants in advance of the real-time session. The overview is available for self-service by the participants, along with any additional reading material, links to third-party videos, and access to online assessments and surveys.
  • Real-time interactive session (2.5 – 3 hours) conducted in-person or via Zoom with breakout rooms, real-time chat, real-time polling, and shared whiteboard capability. This includes two or three exercises using breakout sessions with a Mindtrust leader assigned to each group to participate, observe, or provide guidance. All sessions will include an opportunity to interact with the Mindtrust leaders.

The final session, Leadership in Action, brings everything together, culminating in participants presenting their individual Personal Leadership Statements to the Mindtrust leaders. Graduation will be acknowledged using Credly Acclaim badges, which can be included on each participant’s LinkedIn profile and personal resume.
